Privacy policy

Short version: your 835 files — and the protected health information in them — never leave your device.

Files

835 / ERA files you open in Remitgrid are read and processed by code running in your browser. Their contents — patient and insured names, member IDs, claim numbers, dates of service, procedures and amounts — are never transmitted to us or anyone else, and are not saved in your browser. Closing or reloading the tab clears them.

Downloads

CSV, Excel and PDF files you download are created on your device. They contain the same health information as the 835; store and share them only as your organization's policies allow.

Data stored in your browser

If you buy Pro, we store your license key in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter it. Clear site data to remove it anytime. Nothing else is stored.

License validation

If you activate Pro, your license key (and nothing else) is sent to our payment provider's license API to confirm it is valid. When you click a buy button, the site asks the payment provider whether checkout is open (nothing about you or your files is sent).

Usage counts

The site counts page views and button clicks (for example “pricing viewed”) with a first-party request to this same website. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, sends no identifier and never includes file contents. It is off when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

HIPAA

Because Remitgrid does not receive, store or transmit your files, we do not create, receive, maintain or transmit protected health information on your behalf. Your organization remains responsible for how 835 files and downloads are handled on its devices — ask your privacy or compliance officer if you're unsure.

Hosting logs

Like any website, our host may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.

Payments

Purchases are processed by our merchant-of-record payment partner, which handles your payment details and sales tax under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number.
